World of Viruses

Funded by a grant from the NIH, the "World of Viruses" is producing five interactive comics for the iPad that will tell a story about viruses, including HPV, HIV and Ocean Viruses. Research and usability tests were conducted to develop methods of how interactive, in-depth, and removed a reader can go while still being connected to the linear format of a comic book.

The project is a collaboration between the CoJMC, University of Nebraska State Museum, the Nebraska Center for Virology and a computer science group called Red Brain, Inc. These iPad applications are targeted towards teenagers to increase their interest in science issues.
